Who is Jim Kipp?

This site is meant to be an inspiration for anyone who wants to turn their life around and become fit. Fitness is not about body-building, or cross country training, but being fit does allow you to achieve that; or any other dream you've had for yourself - if you are willing to make a commitment to yourself!

Who is Wesley (Jim) Kipp

Hi! I'm a regular guy. Or atleast I used to be. I spent the better part of my life not being fit. If you're looking at some of my pictures, you might not believe it - but it's true! Until very recently, I was unfit! It's not like I was committed to hurting my body, I just never paid attention to it. The result was poor diet, no exercise and an overall unhealthy lifestyle. But one fine day I decided to change that. I have had to work hard on it, but it was worth it. I made some mistakes and learnt certain things the hard way. But the result is for everyone to see.

Today, I'm not considered a regular guy. After reaching a certain level of fitness by being very disciplined about my diet, my workout schedule and having a deep respect for my well-being, I am participating (and sometimes winning) in power lifting meets that make me proud of myself. I currently hold the NYS record in the bench press in the 100% Raw Federation in the Masters II division. You'd think I've achieved all I ever wanted to but I continue to dream for more. I hope to one day compete in a physique contest - and I'm working towards that. After that, who knows what I will go after.

Mind you, all this with a full time job and a family. And I was 48 yrs old!

I have only been able to do all this because I - formerly a regular unfit guy - persevered with my commitment to be fit.

After being an inspiration to several of my friends, I have decided to start this website and offer advice to anyone else who wishes to make that commitment to themselves. What makes this site different is that the material is not written by someone who has been fit all his life and has no idea what challenges a regular unfit person faces. It is solid advice from a formerly unfit person, directly targetted at a soon-to-be fit person! It will try to highlight several things I had to learn the hard way. Regardless of how old you are and what level of fitness you're currently at, I hope this website benefits you.

You can click on the above links to watch my exercise videos for free. There is also a link that lists my prescribed daily workout routines for the entire week based on what fitness level you are at.

Visit this site often and feel free to write to me if you have any specific questions or if you'd just like to keep me posted on your progress. You could also send me a video of your workout routine and I will give you feedback on your form and your method.

I am an NESTA Certified personal Trainer and can help you achieve your goals

I hope to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by!

  12. Hey Jim. Chris from MN writing and I'm just getting started on Atkins and I'm curious what supplement(s)(if any) did you use while on the initial phases of the Atkins plan?

  13. HI Chris form MN in the induction phase I did not take any supplements but once I was on track and trying to build muscle I did enjoy Isopure Vanilla, it is 0 carb and delicious. However I still counted the serving as 1 carb because of the splenda. Also Parrillo.com has a great all protein milk 0 carb and 0 fat that is nice.
